TRANSFORMATION

Der Fotosommer Stuttgart eröffnet am 19.07.2024 in der Staatsgalerie Stuttgart mit der Ausstellung: Transformation.

Transformation ist Verwandlung. Etwas wird zu etwas Anderem. Was müssen wir in Politik, Wirtschaft und Kultur verändern, um den Herausforderungen der neuen Zeit zu entsprechen? Wenn wir uns nicht verändern, unseren Umgang mit der Erde, der Natur, der zweiten und dritten Welt nicht transformieren, entgleitet uns unsere Welt.

Die zeitgenössische Fotografie als reflektierende Kunstgattung stellt diese Frage ebenfalls: Welchen Beitrag können Fotograf*innen zum Thema Transformation leisten, sei es mit den Inhalten eines Projekts, sei es mit dem Hinterfragen typischer fotografischer Ansätze, die möglicherweise ebenfalls transformiert werden können.

Vom 19.07.-27.07. 2024 zeigt der Fotosommer Stuttgart in Kooperation mit Galerien und Institutionen an ausgewählten Orten in Stuttgart fotografische Arbeiten zum Thema Transformation.

The Fotosommer Stuttgart opens on 19 July 2024 at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart with the exhibition: Transformation.

Transformation is change. Something becomes something else. What do we need to change in politics, business and culture to meet the challenges of the new era? If we don‘t change, if we don‘t transform the way we treat the earth, nature, and the second and third world, our world will slip away from us.

Contemporary photography as a reflective art genre also poses this question: what contribution can photographers make to the topic of transformation, be it with the content of a project or by questioning typical photographic approaches that also represent transformation?

From 19 July to 27 July 2024, the Fotosommer Stuttgart will be showing photographic works on the theme of transformation at selected locations in Stuttgart in cooperation with galleries and institutions.
